"Marina Grande" and Sorrento meals
Once we “discovered” it, we ate three meals in Marina Grande - which is not the “big” marina at all, but the small fishing marina in Sorrento. Perversely, the bigger, commercial marina (where the ferries are) is called Marina Piccolo (small marina).
We ate twice at O Puledrone, a restaurant attached to a fishing co-op. Tiny, friendly, delicious.
We also ate at Taverna Azzurra in the marina as well, another family-run establishment.
Back up the hill, in town, we had dinner one night at Fuoro, a highly rated place that proceeded to disappoint. Great rustic atmosphere in the basement dining room, but the food and the service, not so much. Impatient server expressed dismay at our order of only 2 pastas and wine, food was not great and certainly indifferently presented. My “Nonna’s” ravioli hopefully was not made by anyone’s nonna. The mille feuille was…I’m not sure what it was.
One of our best dinners was after our…uh…trying day on the Amalfi Coast. Our son had been to Sorrento last summer and mentioned that he and his crew though Naima Bar was pretty good, so off we went. On a weekday night, we had one of the dining rooms to ourselves and lots of attention.
