A Few Hours on Capri
We made a last-minute decision to take a ferry to Capri (pronounced CAH-pree), thinking to spend the day there. Well, we didn’t get to the marina very early and ended up on the noon ferry - with advice from the operator to take the 3:15 ferry back due to some expected rough water later in the afternoon.
Easter Sunday and the ferry was packed, which means the local tiny buses were also packed. We took one up to Capri Town and transferred after a bit of a wait to the bus going to Anacapri, thinking to check out the cable car there.
Well, timing is everything. We wasted so much time on transportation, Anacapri ended up being just a lunch stop and not a great one, although my sandwich was good.
Some views on a cloudy breezy day (we did not go to Sushi Fish Lab. I am not sure “sushi” and “lab” should be in the same sentence):
We ended up taking an open-air taxi back to make the ferry on time, a faster but very expensive option. Although it was maybe the best part of the trip.
We would do this again, but would definitely allow more time for the buses, and for wandering around. And we would probably add a boat tour around the island.
